Harvest Intern – William Heritage Winery

William Heritage Winery in the Outer Coastal Plain AVA of New Jersey is looking for a harvest intern for the 2022 season. The intern will be part of a small winemaking team and will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of the winemaking process from the field to the bottle. The Heritage estate is family owned and operated with 60 acres of vineyards. We will crush about 100 tons of fruit this year to a diverse winery program focusing on Bordeaux varieties, traditional method sparkling, Chardonnay, and small experimental lots. William Heritage was the first winery in New Jersey, a burgeoning wine region, to be awarded 90+ points by a major publication.

Tasks will include: 

  • Fruit sampling/field scouting
  • Fruit sorting
  • Fermentation management
  • Additions
  • Pumpovers/punchdowns
  • Pressing
  • Cleaning/sanitation
  • Lab work
  • Barrel work 
  • Bottling
  • Lots more!


  • A passion for wine, winemaking, and wine drinking
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as a team
  • Previous winery or vineyard work is desirable, but not required
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, and use ladders and catwalks
